Friday Note 4-7

Events of the Week: Our theme was plants. We focused on the parts of a plant and what they do.  We planted flowers and vegetables in our classroom garden!

Language Workshop: We continued reading books about plants.  We made our own plant artwork and labeled their parts and needs.

Writing Workshop: We are working on writing complete sentences that describe or tell, instead of “I like…” sentences.  Continue encouraging your child to write at home!

Word Study: We played several games to practice sight words.

Math: We began a unit on decomposing numbers 11-19.  Each day we practiced breaking the numbers down into a set of 10 and left over ones.
